As we plan on going back into school, the social distancing rules are eliminating much movement from my students. Unfortunately, my students have to remain in their own bubble during class hours and will not be able to move around as much as they normally would.
These supplies would extremely help my students keep their minds alert, their bodies healthy, and their space comfortable. Studies have shown that flexible seating has a positive impact on student achievement because they are able to feel more at home. This will also allow student a sense of independence as they have an option to choose from a variety of seats based on their personal needs.
Not only is flexible seating fun and exciting, but beneficial to students with special needs. Something as simple as a chair band will help my students who have sensory needs, and will not impact students around them. Flexible seating would have a significant impact for my classroom, and I'm positive my students will benefit from it as they begin to return to campus.
