If this project is fully funded, I will print out all materials in color for every student ahead of time, and send them home to be used and/or completed during distance learning and telehealth school occupational therapy sessions. When the students return to school, I will use the printer to prepare all visuals and activities to be used and completed during in-school occupational therapy sessions, as well as the necessary visuals to support learning within the classroom. The color printouts will support engagement and participation for all students, especially those who have Autism and are primarily visual learners.
Further, I will prepare the same color copies for myself, so that I can be an appropriate visual model for each student by completing the same activities simultaneously, which is best practice therapy. This will enable me to provide support to students that require modeling and demonstration of what their hands, arms, and bodies should be doing during motor tasks, as well as support their overall task organization and sequencing of steps.
