The individual student response systems allow me to create brief assessments that students can answer with the click of a button. They help eliminate paper waste, while also allowing me to collect data concerning the various SEL topics covered. Students will participate in a pre-assessment to let me know what they know about the topic before the lesson. At the end of the lesson, students will participate in a post-assessment to help me understand what they learned from the lesson and what areas I may need to clarify.
Students today are very familiar with technology, so any opportunity to include technology in their learning helps keep students engaged. Students often experience anxiety when presented with any kind of assessment, so the student response systems will help reduce that anxiety by making it a game. The students can have fun, while also helping me with the data needed to make sure that I am successfully educating them.
