We often have community supplies in our classrooms, but this year students aren't sharing materials. We have given out many supplies throughout the year and don't have a sufficient amount to replenish the tools we are running low on. This year is financially challenging for many families, and Barnum is a high-needs school with 95% of students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Removing the financial burden of purchasing school supplies is extra important during these difficult times.
We know this project will help us provide supplies to all students that they will use daily to benefit their learning! The whiteboards and markers are used in almost every math lesson to solve problems and share strategies with classmates. Our students have improved their typing skills a lot this year, but some good old paper and pencil writing will be a wonderful break from the screen and another opportunity to express their ideas. The laminator will be used for creating activities for reading and math groups for our in-person students.
Thank you for considering this project. Your contribution is greatly appreciated and will make a huge difference in our classrooms!
