Sensory integration is an important part of ongoing social-emotional growth for all students. Receiving the appropriate sensory input helps students of all backgrounds, but particularly neuro-divergent students, such as autistic students, students with down syndrome, students with ADHD, and students with developmental delays. Meeting a child's sensory needs provides an outlet to align the body's needs, leaving students with more room to access the curriculum throughout the school day. Providing a space with designated sensory tools helps students practice self-regulation skills that can benefit them for a lifetime.
