Apparently the district doesn't have any more computers for teachers left. My current school laptop is pretty much unusable to make video content for my students that are all doing remote learning for the rest of the year. It won't stay charged, and it won't run iMovie any more.
Obviously, during remote learning, a computer is essential! The laptop will be used to communicate with students, grade their assignments turned in online, and make video lessons. I am the art teacher for three elementary schools in the district. The art lessons not only provide students with much needed hands-on learning and a way to creatively express themselves during the pandemic and beyond, but they are engaging lessons that are infused with information from many disciplines. The lessons sometimes include math, science, and literature and always history! The projects help all students develop 21st century skills like critical thinking, creativity, and flexibility.
