Bringing the Elmo Camera technology into my classroom is essential to student learning and grasp of the material. With an Elmo, I can sit socially distant at my own desk and project my hands working with clay, paints or drawing materials to the whole class in real time. Students can see my demos clearly on screen and can get actionable feedback and ask specific technique questions without having to crowd around my desk. Additionally, with constant school closings due to COVID 19, I can use the Elmo camera by pairing it with google classroom, and projecting my demos to students through google meets or zoom. This will allow my remote students to see my hands working up close with different art mediums, and get the most out of remote instruction.
