Our students are currently split between two campuses in portable buildings due to Hurricane Harvey that devastated our town in August of 2017. We lost basically all equipment during this storm. We are trying to build back up our equipment inventory so that there is enough equipment for all of the students to play! We find ourselves having to split into very small groups to allow all of the students to play with the amount of equipment that we currently have. This has most students sitting while one group is using the equipment and then we rotate who watches and who plays. With more equipment, we will not have to have students sit and watch and can have multiple games going on at one time!
Our students enjoy activities and games that reflect those similar to the sports they will play in junior high and high school. This equipment will help develop specific motor skills for over 600 students! The footballs, volleyballs, basketballs, and soccer balls will be used for various activities and games that the students LOVE to participate in. Some of our favorite games include musical basketball, ultimate football, volleyball wave, and crab soccer.
