I am the health room nurse and health educator that educates, inspires, and influences children to adopt a healthy lifestyle that will be carried with them forever. I teach hygiene, nutrition, healthy lifestyle, dental care, vision care, medical management, disease management/prevention, and emergency response. My motto is: Students must be HEALTHY to be educated, and EDUCATED to be healthy! Students come to my health room when sick and injured. I not only tend to their immediate need, but I also educate them while they are in my presence. I decorate my office with healthy posters and activities to aid in discussions with them about hygiene, nutrition, and wellness. I provide annual vision/hearing/dental screenings, lead/train the medical emergency response team members, and hold health education classes. Office supplies are necessary to provide the materials needed to organize and create the information, handouts, coloring pages, craft projects, and posters necessary for these educational opportunities, and health supplies are needed to care for and demonstrate healthy living to these children. I have listed office supplies and health room supplies that are needed for caring for the children and needed supplies to provide educational opportunities for the children. Craft items are necessary so that the children can color and create hands-on projects about health and healthy living. Children learn by seeing and doing!
