I am requesting hands-on science kits. The use of these science activities and equipment in these classrooms is helpful, not only to aid in the understanding of complex ideas like mass, volume, or density, but it also has a lasting, memorable learning effect. For example, when we do a unit on measuring the mass of different objects around the classroom, we can use the balance tool to see which items are heavier. Our students can utilize these tools more easily than the standard 5th and 6th grade tools. We hope to be more hands-on with these tools.
