I assist the students on my caseload in being able to access the curriculum at their developmental level. As a school-based occupational therapist I provide support in a variety of areas including, but not limited to reducing barriers that limit student participation in the school environment, providing accommodations (such as adapted writing tools or adapted scissors) to ensure that students are able to participate in all areas of school functioning, determining alternate methods for educational assessment and learning, and assisting in creating a healthy school climate that is conducive to all learners. These materials will allow me to provide students with fulfilling and meaningful occupational therapy sessions that will help them to reach their educational goals.
