Social and Emotional activities is almost a daily activity online and in person during my lessons, especially with Kindergarten thru 5th Grade students. Using the Social and Emotional lessons in the classroom; online and in-person young people and adults can acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions. The games and magna tiles will allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy activity for them to show and express their feelings, through small group and individual sessions. When unhealthy emotions become a problem during play, I will use that time as a teachable moment to redirect and help the students to identify their emotions, express their feelings and discuss why those feelings are present. The Sensory paint set and Sensory Sand is also useful for both Elementary and Middle School students. This type of play can be in small groups or individually. The benefits of Sand Art or Paint Art is that it strengthens color recognition, develops fine motor skills with gripping and squeezing, Promoting self-confidence and independence, boosts creativity, enables children to make choices, creates experience and last but not least it reduces stress. This can benefit both students and adults when given the opportunity. By donating to my project, you will not only help bring awareness to student emotions through play, but you will ultimately help students to learn how to manage emotions, develop healthy identities, show empathy for others, maintain and establish healthy relationships and help them make responsible and caring decisions, which will increase their academic achievement.
