There are two things that students fall in love with as they learn a language: the culture and the ability to communicate. It is easy to get caught up on learning grammar rules and conjugations, when really what students need more of is exposure to authentic language and authentic conversations.
When we are in class in person full time, every Wednesday is culture day. Our students start to look forward to Wednesday's because of this. They know they will learn something interesting, get to listen to music, and have a break from our normal routine. The lessons I will be purchasing from the Teachers Pay Teachers website will help expand our culture Wednesdays to make them even more engaging for students.
My students also always want to get better at speaking. Some of the lessons I want to purchase are geared toward providing students opportunities to talk about interesting topics in the target language. I am excited for the opportunity to provide students with lessons that will help them to love learning and speaking Spanish!
