As a new teacher who started teaching in the middle of the year, I underestimated all of the things I would need for myself and my students! There are so many things new teachers need to supply, and organize, their classroom. It is also a challenge that many of my students do not have all of their needed supplies, or are in need of supply replenishment. Being prepared with all of the necessary tools for learning is essential to effective instruction. Having extra supplies like pencils, erasers, glue, etc. to give to the students will help them always feel prepared and prevent them from feeling worried that they don't have something. Having just come into my empty classroom, organizational items, like the rolling cart with drawers and bin compartments, will help me to organize all of our supplies so they are easily accessible and I do not have to stop class to rummage through cabinets. My students and I are just getting started, but I'm ready for this journey with them.
