My students come from economically challenged homes where buying books is not a high priority. I want my students to have their own books to read and enjoy. Library check out isn't an option and digital books just aren't the same as the real thing. My students need quality literature to read that will boost their reading fluency. I want my students to have quality literature that they can use to do book reports that they could share virtually with their classmates. In this way, they might influence their fellow students to read something different.
