Music education feeds the soul by providing a way for students to express themselves and connect with their peers through an enhanced understanding of art and the world.
Students will use the iPads to compose their own music and create passion project videos that feature their music compositions.
During Non-Traditional Instruction, iPads will be connected to my device so the screen can be shared and students can collaborate on music composition and creation using the GarageBand App. The iPad will also be helpful when I need to record virtual lessons or special activities for my students that require advanced editing options.
When we are back in the classroom together for in person instruction, iPads will be connected to the classroom screen for more collaborative composing and will be used individually by students for Project-Based Learning (PBL) activities focused on music and video creation using GarageBand and the iMovie app. These will be passion projects centered on using student compositions and videos for reaching out to the school community, with a specific focus on new incoming students and English as a second language students and their families.
