My students are creative, resilient and loving. I support children with special needs. My students range in age from 2 years at the beginning of the school year to 5 years of age in the springtime. Some children are identified with a developmental delay, autism, a speech or language impairment, a hearing impairment or an other health impairment. I provide my services within the general education classroom, so I also informally work with many typically-developing students and embed them as language, cognitive and social/emotional models for their peers with exceptionalities.
All of the schools I support are Title I, and offer dual-languages instruction in Spanish and English. Finding tools that can support multilingual learners is often a challenge, and many of my projects will go towards finding equitable and culturally and linguistically responsive resources.
