My sixth grade science students love engaging, interesting, and REAL LIFE application of science concepts. This virtual STEM, bodyflight, physics field trip will help my students learn about many different STEM aspects. During the first part of this virtual field trip, students will learn about many different STEM careers.
Then, they will see an interactive presentation that introduces the science, engineering and math concepts involved with flying in vertical wind tunnels and skydiving. Then, they will see a physics demonstration to see how various objects react in a wind tunnel and predict how other objects will react in regards to their size, weight, shape and surface area. They will also have the opportunity to complete a lab activity where they will use what they have learned to practice measurement and analysis of data. This activity will help them see things differently than they would in the classroom through live demonstrations.
