I opened this classroom 12 years ago this month! The needs in the Greater Nashua area had increased so much that the district had to open another classroom for student's with intensive needs such as autism. At the time I happily accepted the furniture that was given to me and what some of my para educators were able to donate.
The tables and chairs we currently use don't adjust in height for my little 3, 4 and 5 year old special needs preschoolers.
Some of these students are still learning to sit patiently in a chair. It is best for my student's feet to be flat on the floor so they feel "grounded" and the current non-adjustable tables and chairs do not allow for this. We have used telephone books taped together, which are nearly non-existent, to prop up their little feet under the current tables. But unfortunately those get kicked around.
Thank you for considering a donation to my project.
