I teach children with both an IEP and Behavior Plan at a special needs center school. My students are 6-8 grade and need individualized education to be successful. The students I teach are mostly from some very hard home situations, including foster care; group homes; recent adoptions, where parental rights were terminated; medical issues; autism; traumatic brain injury; etc. These students need to know people care about them.
I enjoy helping to keep these children stay out of the system as adults. Many kids have gone into prison or killed in gang violence from my school who did not get turned around. The dropout rate is a problem, as well, since they are usually one or more grades behind by the 8th grade. I desire to give them a future they didn't see possible before. Help me help them.
The supplies and TPT gift cards I have requested are to customize a career elective for my students. I create or buy individual lessons most of the time. I use a great deal of paper since I am writing and printing lessons. I also need other materials, such as a color printer/scanner to do the printing in a more appealing way. I really hope you will be willing to assist my students to reach their full potential and have a positive outcome in life and be successful.
