As an elementary special education teacher, I try to make my lessons as interesting and accessible for my students as possible. One tool that would make it easier for me to be an engaging teacher is a document camera. A document camera will allow me to effectively instruct students both in-person and virtually by allowing me to more easily record my lessons while also showing the same material to my students at school.
In addition, as a second-year special education teacher, I am working on building up my classroom supplies, particularly my math manipulatives. My students greatly benefit from using hands-on manipulatives to solve math problems. Fractions, in particular, are a challenging concept for my students, so fraction bars will help them to understand fractions.
Finally, dot markers will make activities more exciting for my younger students, especially those who struggle with fine motor skills.
I am excited to hopefully receive these resources in order to be a better teacher!
