Sierra Vista High School is a title one school. Ninety percent of our students are on a free or reduced lunch. I teach biology, forensic biology, and Anatomy. My students are hardworking, energetic and love working with hands on labs. Academically they need to improve on their organizational and time management skills. I have been at Sierra Vista since 2008 and notice that most students struggle with maintaining some sort of organizational system to keep track of their classwork and notes from their classes. To help my students fine tune these skills, they maintain interactive folders, which are used daily in class for a variety of assignments. Hands on labs help my students make the connection between what they are learning in class with real world problems and gives them the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the material.
