Remote learning has been a difficult transition for students, parents, and teachers. One of the things that I struggle with the most is not being able to see my students on the computer screen while simultaneously accessing various lesson-related materials on that same screen. When I am face to face with students, I can see their facial expressions and body language. This provides me with additional information regarding their interest in and comprehension of presented lessons and activities. Remote learning has greatly reduced my ability to observe these non-verbal cues.
Having an additional computer monitor would allow me to both see my students AND present them with information.
