I am a first-year teacher teaching in Flint trying to give my students all I can and with these new materials, I will be able to. Making my classroom more sensory-based will help them stay focused, engaged, and on topic, which results in better learning! The wobble chairs and yoga chairs will help them have a more comfortable seat and space to bounce and/or rock while learning. Students love to rock and move in seats and with these chairs, it is a safe way for them to do it, rather than the old saying "four on the floor" which some students don't listen to and get hurt. A waterfall will give my students calm sounds to hear while learning. Having a calm sound to hear while learning has shown to improve memory.
The donation will go towards making my classroom sensory-friendly. By implementing these materials I will be able to help my students who have already been through so much with the water crisis and now a pandemic. Sensory based classrooms
