Hello! My name is Leevia Barnett. I teach US History, Dual Credit US History, Sociology, History Through Film, and World Geography at Winchester High School. This is a small school in central Illinois. I am requesting two types of materials for this project. First,I am asking for a gift card from Teachers Pay Teachers.
This resource could dramatically help me update my lesson plans, curriculum, and resources. I make up most of my own lesson plans and I commonly use excellent resources available that are available through the National Archives, Library of Congress, etc. However, I currently see over 125 students a day and I have 5 different classes to prep for. This year I have both in-person and remote students that I am teaching at the same time. Teaching 7 classes with only 1 prep period is challenging. A gift card/gift cards to Teachers Pay Teachers would help me add some new and engaging material to my curriculum. It would free up more of my time to grade student work.
Second, I am asking for some headphones for my students to have when using their chromebooks. This would help my remote students who are commonly distracted by other noise in the home. It would also allow us to complete in-class projects that use music/sound individually.
I have been teaching for 17 years. I also work as an adjunct history professor and adjunt education professor at a local college and university. I am so grateful for any donation at all. Teaching is my passion.
