Throughout the distance learning experience my students have expressed repeatedly how much they miss having a book in their hands.
Both of these books will be used by the students while virtually learning in their homes and will hopefully be something they keep forever.
Our grade level's previous attempt to read a novel was on the computer which made it difficult for students with poor WiFi connection. Having a physical book in their hands will give them a sense of ownership and responsibility while also providing them with a great reading experience.
