The goal of this project is to provide items that my students can use to help relieve stress and anxiety. My students are growing and learning about themselves. We often allow our students to "take a break" or to go to a "calm-down space". Once my students are in that space, they do not always know how to use that space effectively.
The Calm Down Kits are storage containers filled with activities and supplies that help students learn to channel their stress and anxiety in healthy and productive ways. These items will be kept in storage containers so that they can easily be moved to different locations throughout the school. They will be placed in common "calm down spaces" and teachers' classrooms at their requests.
Each kit will contain hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes, as well as a list of instructions and suggestions on the lid of the kits of proper use. The kits will be placed in areas that are supervised by adults. However, the maintenance and use of the kits will be at the discretion of students.
