My students are of exceptional needs with disabilities; they are impacted in all areas of development. I work with them one on one, they each have their own personalities & are unique in their complex needs, strengths and interest.
I have students that have suffered a massive seizure at a young age which have set them back in their development. They use to speak, read, play with peers and after the seizure, they are unable to walk, talk, read and require significant accommodations & modifications of instruction. To say the least, it has been a traumatic experience for the student & their families. Yet, they persist with living, the parents believe in the well being of their child and their development --and so do I!
All of my students benefit from tactile learning experiences where they can explore with their hands to further their progress in literacy and mathematics and are from families with limited income.
