I am requesting a few necessary products to help improve speech-language therapy session success during remote and in-person learning. This new type of learning has been challenging for my students and these tools will most certainly help them.
My students come from low-income households and some don’t have the necessary space to learn. For my remote students I am requesting a set of 10 headphones with microphones for my most challenged learners. They are distracted because of what is going on in the background. Pre-pandemic, these students in general have had difficulty focusing and remaining attentive during small group sessions. Now they are challenged even more in a remote learning environment. Their parents don’t have the means to buy them the necessary material they need to improve their learning. Headphones will reduce the problems created by noise, distance, and reverberation and can make lessons more enjoyable, prompt greater focus, and boost lesson retention leading to student success.
My students learn best when an activity is fun and interactive. There are many activities available online to help them work on their specific individualized goals while keeping them motivated and engaged. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, budget cuts have occurred and have limited our ability to purchase material. For both my remote and in-person students, I am requesting a gift card for Teachers Pay Teachers. I will be able to use a variety of different therapy material and tools (digital and print) to expand on my student’s speech and language skills in an engaging and functional manner. My students deserve materials that target their individual and unique learning needs.
Speech and language development is vital to one's life and to overall academic success. It is my wish to provide the most effective and individualized therapy possible to my speech students during therapy sessions!
