I am currently teaching kindergarten 100% virtually. We are scheduled to return to a hybrid model of 50/50 in-person/virtual teaching on March 1. I am using a laptop given to me from my district. I am extremely limited to what I can do with this laptop. I can not show any videos, PowerPoints, shorts movies, etc. I also run into difficulty sharing my screen in any way. The HP Laptop in this project will allow me to have a reliable device to hold our daily Zoom meetings, as well as plan for instruction. This new laptop will allow me to share my screen and incorporate new ideas in my daily lessons. I will be able to use songs and videos from websites to enhance what I am teaching. There are so many parts of teaching that I have had to give up due to not having reliable technology. The laptop will provide a better camera and most importantly, a better microphone. With a working microphone, I will be assured that my students are able to hear me as I teach and interact with them. Computers are the lifeline between teachers, students, and parents during virtual and hybrid teaching. Working computers should be the norm in all classrooms.
