My students are amazing. They come from a low-income area, but come to school ready and willing to learn. These students are at a charter school where we do not receive as much funding as a traditional public school. My students are supposed to take the Ohio Achievement Assessment with a calculator, but our school does not have enough for every student. They understand concepts, but unfortunately, some of the problems on the test are nearly impossible for them to compute without a calculator.
