I teach at a Title I charter school, where many of my students can’t see beyond getting a fast food job like mom. I want to give them some hands-on STEM experience to stimulate interest in math and science. I want to help them see possibilities beyond what they see in their own homes. I want to help them understand that education is their ticket to a better life.
STEM lessons can start getting them interested in applied math and science, creating a link between what they are learning and what they can do with it as an adult.
