Teaching via Zoom to 4-5 year olds can be challenging because it seems like a TV to them. Virtual learning often needs virtual tools and lessons that make viewing more interesting. One way that teachers know something is working is by seeing the students' faces and seeing if they are interested and engaged. However, with one monitor/screen, that is impossible to do when there is a virtual shared lesson on the screen.
Having a second screen will help me make sure that the lesson is working and the kids are engaged, whether it be singing, talking, or just listening. Especially with four-year olds who are more than ready to run around their house instead!
