I use an iPad (with a projector to display my screen) everyday with my students in-person as well as when I am teaching remotely. My students are at a transitional age where they are learning how to take notes and need to show works while solving math problems. Using an iPad is a crucial way to model how to preform these tasks.
During math, I am able to project their workbook page on the board and work through problems with them, modeling how to solve math problems. I am also able to quickly project my students’ work to share with the whole class due to social distance requirements. This also works great for when we are connected remotely for classes. During Science, I am able to project live experiments using the camera feature since group work is prohibited during this time.
I was recently hired in the middle of this school year during the pandemic. The majority of the district are low income kids in rural Pennsylvania with a low tax base from businesses. Our technology is becoming outdated and devices aren’t always in working order. Please help me add this amazing technology to our classroom.
