The Lakeshore STEM bundle for grades K-G1 will allow me to integrate STEM into my library curriculum. While I already read books to children that touch on STEM subjects, STEMtember is a fun, month-long event that connects literacy to STEM.
This kit provides all the level-appropriate tools to help students explore important concepts hands on!
After reading The Three Little Pigs, students will design a house that can't be blown down. The next week, they read The Three Billy Goats Gruff and build a bridge that will keep the goats safe. Lastly, they will have the challenge of building a chair sturdy enough to hold Goldilocks.
First graders will practice with magnets and motion, and second graders will create a chain reaction and build a marble maze. All of the activities will accompany a book that I will read to them.
