The books that I have chosen will be used as read alouds in Kindergarten, First Grade and Second Grade classrooms. They will assist the teachers in building background knowledge for each unit of study in the curriculum. Background knowledge is the predominant predictor of how well a student will be able to comprehend new content, especially informational text. By donating to this project, you will help peak student interest and the desire to learn about cultures around the world and complex science topics. Ultimately, your donation of these high-interest books will help increase the background knowledge that is so crucial to our students' academic success!
