As we get ready to welcome students back on campus, we have been looking for ways to make the library more welcoming, inclusive, and comfortable. We've been hard at work adding some splashes of color and cleaning the space. We surveyed about 150 students about what changes they would like to see in the library; overwhelmingly, they are asking for comfortable reading chairs, bright colors, and a lounge-like feel. Our library is monochromatic, and the furniture is outdated and institutional, but it is difficult to purchase new furniture when the old is still serviceable. This small and lively lounge, featuring our school colors, green and gold, would be the first thing to welcome students into the library as they walk in. Thanks for considering!
