These books will be used for students to read and engage with the authentic text in the classroom. The students have already spent so much reading online and have programs to support them to read, but students have insufficient books to feel, touch, and see. Early learners need to be able to manipulate books and words and they need to understand the fundamentals of becoming a great reader. This can only be accomplished through the use of actual books. The curiosity that students show when grabbing a book is heartwarming and amazing to see as they challenge themselves to figure out unknown words. The students will use the books by reading independently and some of the books will also be used in guided reading. With much effort, instruction, and increasing time in text students will be successful at becoming AWESOME readers.
