Several of the books I chose will allow the students to focus on black and brown environments as well as culturally diverse students. Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Dog Man are in Spanish. Many of my students are reading below their grade level. These books will encourage and enhance their ability to read and increase comprehension skills.
Many of my students are from diverse backgrounds and have been out of school for over a year, it has hindered their reading skills. Several of them fell behind in their daily reading. These books will allow them to increase their reading skills and excel in fluency.
