Music Therapy uses music as the tool to address non musical goals on a student's IEP and beyond.
Some of the goal areas I support include: Increased attention, decreased self-stimulation, improved cognitive functioning, increased socialization, successful and safe self-expression and communcation, improved behavior, enhanced auditory processing, decreased agitation, improved receptive/expressive language, enhanced sensory-motor skills.
The Easycussion would be a wonderful addition to the music therapy department as it is based on a pentatonic scale. When using this scale there is always success when the students play along with the music, every note sounds great! It looks like a compact xylophone and has five notes of the scale. It can be used on lap trays and table tops and is portable. The students will not only create music but they will be working on fine motor, communication, self expression, and positive peer interaction skills.
