My students are under a lot of stress academically and socially. My students would benefit from headphones to do interactive activities independently. This will help my English Language Learners access audio for articles, allowing them to stay focused on their work without distractions.
All students have struggled during the Covid-19 pandemic, but my English Language Learners have been affected the most. If students have headphones in class, they can listen and follow along to articles, books, or do other research. This will make a huge impact on their learning!
Many of these kids face challenges at home and in school. One of those challenges is staying energized and focused. I provide students with snacks on a "no questions asked" basis. In a title one school, I never know what circumstances students face at home, but I always want them to know they have a place that provides both an education and a welcoming environment.
