Hello! My name is Ms. Bergstrom and we have a class FULL of beautiful, smart, energetic and eager PreKers within the Chicago Public School system experiencing school for the very first time in the middle of a global crisis.
You could only imagine how the beginning of the year was like teaching my little ones (4 year olds) through a screen. I am so happy we were able to start back up in the classroom come 2021!
6 out of 14 of my PreK students have been learning in the classroom since January with a comprehensive safety plan, lots of cleaning supplies, and just the right amount of space in our turn of the 20th century classroom.
Fourth Quarter is quickly approaching and 6 more children want to join us for in-person learning! Sadly, we do not have enough space, tables, and room in our old CPS classroom to have them all learn in a safe environment.
I am hoping to get table dividers for my students in order to remain safe, but continue hands-on inquiry based learning that developmentally, these little ones need and DESERVE. Thank you so much for considering donating.
