Because many students in the school do not have typical life experiences or have special needs , these students require visual support to assist with their expressive language development. Even though I will use these objects and materials for pre-academic skills in preschool, the entire school at all grade levels will have access to the materials. Skills such as patterning, shapes, sorting/classifying, descriptive vocabulary, awareness of appreciation of family cultures/traditions, similarities and differences. The die cuts will support math, science and weather related projects through drawings which add details while promoting the use of verbal descriptive language during the activity.
