After experiencing distance learning with my 1st through 4th grade resource room students this past spring, I quickly realized just how much they needed. My district was one of the first in the nation to go virtual. We left school on a Friday and didn't go back for the rest of the school year. Students left workbooks, notebooks, and projects unfinished and untouched. They were forced to learn a new way of acquiring knowledge. Many did not have regular access to technology and therefore struggled to complete their assignments.
I want this year's distance learning to be different! I want my students to not have to worry about printing assignments if they can't. I want to be able to help them by printing out assignments and mailing or delivering it to their homes so that they can complete their work without worrying about how they will have access to it. A high-quality printer will allow me to print out activities and assignments quickly, so that time is not wasted trying to find someone in their community that can print for them. The Teacher Pay Teacher gift card will give me access to high-quality activities, worksheets, and lessons that will meet the needs of my diverse and struggling learners.
