The resources from this project will be used in a dramatic play area in our classroom. Dramatic play teaches and promotes expressive language. I am requesting a diner, sandwich shop, ice cream parlor, and waitress/waiter uniform. These materials will provide my students the opportunity to practice all areas in a restaurant, from being a waiter/waitress to a cook, and even a customer. These resources will help my students develop oral language, including vocabulary development and practicing social ettiquette. When students engage in dramatic play, they are actively experimenting with the social and emotional roles in life. Through play, they are developing a life-long love of language and learning!
