I want to create a classroom library for my students and for all of the students to come. The community does not have a library or a bookstore, so these books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students will really enjoy once they are able to return to the classroom--soon. The students will be able to choose titles they are interested in and want to read, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. This will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time and to become even more proficient in literacy.
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word. In addition, I would like to provide incentives for reaching reading goals.
