My school focuses large attention on the social-emotional curriculum to encourage students to self-regulate and foster emotional wellness. We are seeing the aftermath of the pandemic on all of our students. Social and Emotional concerns are at an all time high. The items that I added to my bundle will be added to a calm down kit for each classroom to have. These items will include sensory items, fidget toys, visual calm down strategies, as well as aromatherapy tools to help students to calm down. Teachers will be trained on what is in each kit so that they can create a calm space in their classroom for students to cool down when they are in need of a break. Practicing effective self-regulation and coping strategies now will help set these students up for success throughout the rest of their lives.
