Kids feel safer and more welcome in a warm classroom, which results in them applying themselves more to learning. I want my classroom to be a comfortable place because I believe in the social and emotional wellness of all students. Please help me give my students more than bare walls.
Giving students manipulatives adds to a more comprehensive understanding of mathematics. Math will be more fun with an increased amount of manipulatives, and it would provide more hands on activities. An engaged student will need less practice work and be more interested in their academic future. Please help!
Included in my proposal is a request to purchase various 3-D geometric shapes, which will teach the kids what the shapes look like. It will also help them understand 3D and 2D shapes area and volume. I am hoping for manipulatives for fractions so students get hands on opportunities to explore creating and breaking down whole numbers. It will also help me demonstrate decimals, fractions, and percentages as equivalents. I would also like some incentives like stickers and homework passes to give students goals for positive reinforcement purposes. Finally, I am requesting stuff to decorate the walls such as various attitude banners to encourage hard work and create a more enjoyable atmosphere.
