In the goal of challenging students to think about what makes effective communicators and writers, effective models are a must. Trevor Noah's memoir is a poignant, engaging, funny, and rhetorically effective example of how writing is a powerful tool to share our unique experiences. Students will use this text as a model to help them draft their own stories and to understand the power language has to share our message with the world. I thank you in advance for helping me in my goal to make our students more effective communicators and well-rounded citizens and people.
