My students love to learn! They especially love to learn when they can be actively involved in a hands-on manner. Our school is located in a predominantly rural setting in Wisconsin. Our state is known for our dairy farms and country living. Unfortunately, the farming, gardening, and mechanical skills which were standard to a rural child's education in the past are no longer being passed down from generation to generation. This interdisciplinary project would allow the 105 fifth grade students in our school, and countless fifth grade students in years to come, the opportunity to learn a real-life rural skill.
